LETS SIGNUP AND MAKE SOME MONEY

Top 5 Excuses

It's easy to get sidetracked, and even easier to not start at all. If you have heard yourself say any of these things, take a personal inventory. Your priorities may be misplaced, or you just might need to take a new approach to an old problem. I hope these help get you going in the right direction.

Top 5 Excuses

1. "It's not in the budget right now." You may not think you have the money to enroll in a fitness or martial arts class right now. Consider the alternative though. What about all of the additional costs associated with poor health? Doctor's visits, drug costs (prescribed and OTC), missed work, etc. are all way more expensive than any programs you may enroll in. Likewise, most martial arts and fitness classes cost only $10 or $8 per class. Don't eat out twice a week for lunch (easily $16!), or cut down on your trips to the coffee shop (another expensive habit!). There is always an option for health!

2. "I don't have the time right now." Most every class offered at CMS ,or anywhere for that matter, lasts for 1 hour or less. We believe in quality...not quantity. If you don't have 30 mins. to 1 hr twice a week for your fitness and health, you are a ticking timebomb of stress. Your health and well being should be foremost in importance in your life. "But what about my family?", you may say. What will they do after you suffer a heart attack or nervous breakdown? Think about that.

3. "It's too hard/...beyond my skill level" I heard Stephen Covey say "Always doing the same thing, yields the same results...always!" Everyone starts somewhere. I have never met a person who doesn't like to help "the new guy/gal". People like to show off their skills, and love to help other people acheive those same traits. Besides, if you don't start...you'll never finish. Fitness is hard work! Nobody said it wasn't...If they did, they are trying to sell you a contraption on latenight T.V.

4. "I need to juggle my schedule before I commit." Guess what? If you say that, you will never juggle your schedule. Something will always come up to make you change your mind. See number 2 again. All we ask is 30mins. to an hour. Commit now, or you never will.

5. "It's not that bad yet." What a horrible thing to say! Yet, we hear it. If it's not THAT bad...what kind of bad are you waiting for? Real bad?...Slightly worse?...Disproportionatley unexeptable? Each journey begins with a single step. You can start a journey to health and happiness, or sickness and strife. The choice is always yours.

USANA’s groundbreaking research & technology lead the pack

Dear USANA Associates,

Are you telling your customers and potential prospects all the reasons why USANA is the right choice for them? Don’t overlook our groundbreaking research and technological advances, which have enabled USANA to apply for and receive three patents from the United States Patent and Trademark Office!

In 2002, USANA scientists received two rarely given patents for their discovery of a process to extract antioxidants that are specific to olives alone. The benefits of olive fruit and olive oil consumption are extensive. And, until USANA scientists discovered this now patented process, no commercial sources of these antioxidants had been readily available. USANA’s exclusive Olivol® extract gives the key nutritional benefits of the Mediterranean diet without the fat and sodium.

In 2007, USANA also received a patent for the revolutionary technology used in formulating our Sensé beautiful science® skin- and personal-care product line. USANA’s unique manufacturing process allows Sensé products to maintain a standard two-year shelf life without the need for added chemical preservatives. Our now-patented “self-preserving” technology utilizes a variety of proprietary blends of purifying botanicals, antioxidants, and other active ingredients in protective liquid crystals to keep the product naturally fresh. The Sensé line maintains its shelf life without the use of parabens or other chemical preservatives commonly used in other cosmetics and skin-care products.

Give your customers and prospects two more reasons why USANA provides exceptional nutrition, skin - and personal-care products they can trust. Be sure to check the “News” section located on USANA.com for more great information to share with your prospects.

Have a great weekend!

Nutritional supplements slow aging of brain

Nutritional supplements slow aging of brain

A study published in the December 2004 issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found a correlation between nutritional supplement use and improved cognition later in life. Cognition is the mental process of thought, including perception, reasoning, intuition and memory.

The researchers found that supplement users scored higher on mental speed tests than those who did not take supplements. Fish oil supplement users were found to have greater red blood cell membrane omega-3 fatty acid content, which was correlated with improved cognitive function later in life. A greater ratio of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) to arachidonic acid was also related to better cognitive function.

The results of this study are consistent with previous reports that dietary supplements may reduce dementia risk and suggest that optimizing omega-3 fatty acid intake may improve the retention of cognitive function in the elderly.

High Glycemic Index Diets Increase the Risk of Chronic Degenerative Disease

High Glycemic Index Diets Increase the Risk of Chronic Degenerative Disease

Long-term consumption of high-glycemic foods may increase oxidative stress and the risk of chronic degenerative diseases.

Leading U.S. researchers recently concluded that a low-GI diet, not a low carbohydrate diet, appears to be beneficial in reducing the production of free radicals and oxidative stress.

Glycemic index (GI) is a measure of the rate that the carbohydrates in a food or meal are digested and appear in the blood as glucose (sugar). Glycemic load is a way of measuring the total carbohydrates in a meal or diet with a mathematical adjustment for GI. These measurements can be used to simultaneously describe the quality (glycemic index) and quantity of carbohydrate in a meal or diet.

Recent data suggest that the sudden rise in blood sugar associated with a high glycemic load may increase free radical production and the risk of oxidative damage. This increased production has been implicated in many disease processes including chronic heart disease, accelerated aging, and type 2 diabetes.

Investigators from several leading U.S. institutions recently investigated whether a diet with a high GI or GL is associated with greater oxidative stress by taking specific measurements in nearly 300 healthy adults.

Participants with a higher GI and GL diet were found to exhibit increases in oxidative stress when compared to those eating a diet lower in glycemic index and load.

Researchers concluded that chronic consumption of high-GI foods may lead to chronically high oxidative stress, increasing the risk for several degenerative diseases. A low-GI diet, not a low carbohydrate diet, appears to be beneficial in reducing oxidative stress.

Omega-3 fatty acid

Omega-3 fatty acid intake associated with lower heart disease risk

Increased consumption of omega-3 fatty acids in the diet is associated with lower levels of inflammation and endothelial activation, according to results from a study at Harvard. Dysfunction of the endothelium, which is the inner lining of the blood vessel wall, is an early event in the development of atherosclerosis and subsequent heart disease.

Food frequency questionnaires completed in1986 and 1990 by 727 participants in the Nurses' Health study were evaluated for levels of the omega-3 fatty acids alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).

Alpha-linolenic acid consumption was found to be inversely associated with several plasma markers of inflammation, while EPA and DHA intake was inversely related to platelet aggregration.

Results of this study indicate that in addition to reducing triglycerides, platelet aggregation and heart arrhythmias, omega-3 fatty acids may also reduce the body's production of hydrogen peroxide, which is involved in the inflammatory process.

Commitment to Your Business

Commitment to Your Business

The difference between a non-profit hobby and a successful business... KNOW YOUR "WHY" and COMMIT

by George Madiou

So many people have wants and desires in their life, and never seem to achieve them. They look beyond their job and think a business of their own is the answer. They get introduced to network marketing and may even try a couple of companies. They may even fall in love with the concept of being in business with the network marketing system, but year after year they never seem to achieve the success that they see others enjoying. Why is that? What is missing between the successful and the want to be successful?

Two of the fundamental keys to success are knowing your "why" and commitment to achieving it.

What is commitment and what does it mean to your success? Understanding your motivation will help you define the meaning of success for you. That motivation, is often referred to as your "why" or why would I do something, no matter what. It might be that, no matter what, you will move out of the ghetto into an area that is safe for your family. It could be that you will get your degree because you see that as a means to break a cycle of dead end jobs you have had all of your life. It might be your first child is ready to be born and you want to give that child the life you never had. Everyone's "why is different. You must determine your own "why."

The first key to successful commitment is to commit to knowing your "why".

Most people spend more time planning the family summer vacation than examining what the "why" in their life is. STOP! If you haven't determined this stop reading and go do it. This is an in depth examination of YOU and it should take some time to get a good handle on what your "why" is. Focus on this project for at least the next 21 days, and a few times per day. At the end of the 21 days you will have a start of what will make you blast through a brick wall to accomplish your "why".

Now for your commitment!

How you reach your "why" becomes easier now that you know what it is. It's hard to commit to anything if you're not sure what the purpose is. If a network marketing business will bring you closer to reaching your "why", now full commitment will automatically be ingrained in you to reach your target. It will become effortless and you will seek out all of the mentors, systems, time and effort to turn the commitment to your business into the successful vehicle to attain the "why" that moves you.

Commitment becomes the fuel to your success!

The clear concentration of what you want opens the door to an unhampered commitment to the effort you are putting into the activity that will bring you to success. When you are clear on what it is you are going after, it becomes easier to see the people who can help you get there. It is easier to see the activities that both help and hinder your progress. The clearer you are the more committed you become to make it happen, NO MATTER WHAT!!!!!

Aim high!

Autograph your career and your life with excellence

Excellence is not something that you can just turn on and off whenever you feel you need it. It is a habit rooted in your attitude about your life and career.

by Dr. Denis Waitley

In 1644, a child was born. He lived to be 93 at a time in history when the average life span was but 35 to 40. He taught himself his trade and began his career. He often worked alone with primitive tools, but his focus every day was to put the best he had into his work.

The man made violins. He labored over each and every process and step to ensure that he had "autographed" them with excellence and the best that was in him. He created his own personal standard of excellence for his craft, and he actually signed his name on each instrument that passed the test.

Today, some three hundred years later, the name of this craftsman who was committed to excellence is the benchmark for the best in musical instruments. His name? Antonio Stradivari! His Stradivarius violins sell for hundreds of thousands of dollars because they are the best.

When Stradivari labored, he did not know of the legacy he was creating. He was doing his best, day in and day out, to reach his standard of excellence. He didn't spend the extra time and care to get the accolades of upper management or to be the top producer in the company. He did it because excellence was part of his focus, mission, and obsession.

It is easy to do world-class work when a boss is looking or a supervisor is around. But the test is in what you do when no one is looking.

High achievers have developed the ability to stay focused when no one else is around.

Does your quality or performance fluctuate based on who is in the office or which customer you are serving? Excellence is not something that you can just turn on and off whenever you feel you need it. It is a habit rooted in your attitude about your life and career.

Are you just going through the motions day to day, or are you creating a masterpiece? Autographs are valuable because they are rare and are tied to excellent performance. In today's world, superior effort and service are becoming endangered species. Is the autograph you place on your work and service each day a Stradivarius or a Michael Jordan? Or is it unknown, with little value? Autograph your career and your life with excellence.

Having a firm commitment to excellence, like Stradivari, has an amazing effect on your achievement motivation. When people who are simply going through the motions or who are just working for a paycheck hit a challenge or obstacle, they often run to their boss and get him or her to do it, or they procrastinate by getting a cup of coffee or shuffling the papers on their desk. On the other hand, when individuals who are committed to excellence hit a similar challenge, they immediately bounce back with energy, and they are actually exhilarated by the chance to stretch themselves to overcome the problem.

A commitment to excellence will create focus, and focus will assist you in maintaining your positive motivation and in creating a balanced life.

So, start today and autograph your work with excellence.. JOIN USANA... build your future now.. www.safeliving.usana.com

Something to think about

Most people today spend their life just trying to get by. They go to work everyday, usually to a job that they either fell into or one that they think is the right thing to do to provide for their family. They work all week and then try and find some enjoyment on their days off. Those that have families scramble to find time to spend with their children.

Most people today go to college and go for a degree that will make the most money and be the least objectionable. The current philosophy is that it doesn't matter what you have a degree in as long as you have a degree in something. And to a certain extent that is true. Many successful people have degrees that have nothing to do with their current occupation.

Most people spend their entire lives trying to do what they think is the right thing to do, only to come to the end and find that they never experienced the things the always dreamed about.

Recently my mother passed away.
In the final days of her life, I sat by her bed and wondered what I could do for her. I thought, "if I knew I only had a few days left on this earth, what would I want?" My son put his arm around me and said, "At this point it really doesn't matter."
We each come to this life with special gifts and talents that are uniquely ours. Those gifts and talents are generally what we are the most passionate about. When we take time to develop our talents it brings us joy and we become very good at them.

But sadly, we often develop our talents and interest in our spare time or as a hobby. Our talents and passions are given to us to help us find our soul purpose in life.

Mark Twin wrote, "The secret of success is making a vocation your vacation." Each one of us has the God given ability to make our dreams and passions a reality. Life was never meant to be a drudgery. This life is a gift where each one of us should do what makes us happy. So, why not create the life that will bring us joy?

"Give up the idea of what life should be, and just celebrate what life is." (James Arthur Ray) Perhaps we should be open to taking our hobbies, interests and passions turning them into our vocation.

What ever our life is, we have created it - good or bad. Whatever our attention is on, is what we attract to our life. So, if we believe that we have no choice but to live the life we are stuck with, that is what we will get. If we focus on our dreams and goals and believe we can create them, then that is what we will get.

Everyday we have choices. We can choose to struggle more or we can choose to create joy and freedom. Our thoughts create. So, whatever you think about and believe in will happen. If we focus on the negative, our lives will get harder. If we focus on the positive, life will get easier. So, if we change our belief, we can change our life.

These things don't happen all at once. It take time to change our focus and head in a new direction. Don't quit your day job yet. But as O. Wendall Holmes once said, "the greatest thing in this world is not so much where we are, but in what direction we are moving." When we move toward our dreams and goals, we experience happiness and we will be able to experience all that we desire. Look inside yourself and find your passion. Find your purpose in this life and head in that direction.
"The challenge of our time is no longer how much pain we can endure. Our new challenge is how big can you dream, how much joy can you hold and how long will you let it be that way. Whether you believe it or not, you are the creator of your own reality." (Carol Tuttle)

I invite each one of you to discover what is missing from your life, and what you would like to change before "It doesn't matter".
